COVID-19 Resources

Up and Out is committed to preventing the further spread of COVID-19 and has implemented preventative and response measures for the current pandemic.

Our Response Plan

Safety of our staff and clients is our first priority.

Up and Out has implemented strategies for infection control, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees and visitors, visitor limitations and restrictions, infection screening, safety during transportation, group activities and community access, social distancing, increased remote access to meetings and appointments, exposure reporting, and vaccination requirements for employees.

Up and Out has a COVID-19 Action Plan in place to guide and assist in implementing state and federal recommendations, restrictions, and visitation guidelines to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. With each new COVID-19 case, supervisors and staff are provided direct training and guidance to ensure the most effective and safest support.

The CDC provides guidance for the education and prevention of COVID-19 and provides resources including PPE guidance, vaccine information, testing awareness, quarantine and isolation needs, etc. The Oregon Health Authority - OHA provides local guidance and specific support for group living outbreaks. Up and Out adheres to all federal and local guidelines to provide the most current, evidence-based support to increase the likelihood of preventing spread.

What to expect if there is a positive case in a group home

  • The individual that tests positive will isolate in their room for 10 days. They may leave the home, attend work, visit with others after a shorter period depending on their case and other policies.

  • Staff will use increased PPE for the 10 day isolation period.

  • Increased surface sanitization will occur

  • The same PPE will not be used when providing COVID+ and COVID- supports.

  • Visitation, new hires, and new client entries will be restricted during the isolation period.

  • Increased testing for 14 days for those that had had contact with a COVID+ case.

COVID-19 Policy
